Summary

The Dursleys were so mean and hideous that summer that all Harry Potter wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry。 But just as he’s packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike。

And strike it does。 For in Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor, Gilderoy Lockhart, a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls’ bathroom, and the unwanted attentions of Ron Weasley’s younger sister, Ginny。

But each of these seem minor annoyances when the real trouble begins, and someone — or something — starts turning Hogwarts students to stone。 Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects… Harry Potter himself!

did not enjoy it as much as i enjoyed the first one and the story was also kind of okish but the writing style was still as amazing as the first one

Me gustó leerlo bastante, lo leí en la mitad del tiempo que el anterior。 Fue interesante, asombroso, rápido y corto。

The sequel the the first book in the series was so good and the writing was again really easy to read and fun。 The plot is pretty good but we still get to see lots of normal life in Hogwarts。 4 1/4

Whilst it's a 5 star for world building etc, I'd say the writing is more 4 star。 As a kid, it would have been a 5 all round, but as an adult who writes herself, there's some really sloppy passages that honestly could've been a lot better put together。 That said, this is Rowling and she got a whole generation reading and talking about her world soooo what I think is pretty moot point haha! It was compelling in parts, out right boring in others

Not my favorite but Tom Riddle deserves a star all on his own

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Everything that comes out of Lockhart's mouth is pure gold。 From the very beginning, he's just such a smarmy bastard and I love it。 Ron really becomes his own character in this one。 He's Harry and Hermione's insight into the muggle world and always explains things they don't understand without degradation。 I still feel like the pacing is a little off, everything in the chamber happening in the last 15 or so pages but the intrigue is sprinkled throughout。 Everything that comes out of Lockhart's mouth is pure gold。 From the very beginning, he's just such a smarmy bastard and I love it。 Ron really becomes his own character in this one。 He's Harry and Hermione's insight into the muggle world and always explains things they don't understand without degradation。 I still feel like the pacing is a little off, everything in the chamber happening in the last 15 or so pages but the intrigue is sprinkled throughout。 。。。more

Wow this Second book of the film was fantastic。 I did however noticed a few differences between the book and the film。 I would recommend it。 Another great read。

With the success of the preceding Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, it feels as though J。K。 Rowling intended for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets to be a vessel for expanding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: introducing more spells, more creatures, more magic in general, and giving further depth to the main ensemble of characters, to the point where the reader can predict their response in any given situation。 Whilst, perhaps, this isn't the formula for the most gripping novel With the success of the preceding Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, it feels as though J。K。 Rowling intended for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets to be a vessel for expanding the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: introducing more spells, more creatures, more magic in general, and giving further depth to the main ensemble of characters, to the point where the reader can predict their response in any given situation。 Whilst, perhaps, this isn't the formula for the most gripping novel, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is still very entertaining, and continues to push forward the overarching narrative of the series, despite the several excessively long explanations and monologues。 All-in-all, it still makes for a fascinating, suspenseful, and hilarious (at times) read。 。。。more

I give it a 4。3 stars。 To start, was definitely better than the first book。 I loved the way it was written and how everything was connected。 It also had more going on throughout the book rather than just adding most of it to the end (which is what the first one does)。

This book is good and mysterious and can trick you without you realising it。 I've watched the movies before reading this so I knew the plot but I'm fairly sure that whoever doesn't would have been tricked by the last revelation。I love Hermione in this book。 The way she talks, her intelligence, kindness, and wittiness shocks me。 For me she's a lovely girl with whom I can relate a bit。Now about the things which I got from this book- 1。 Never falsely accuse someone without much evidence and if you This book is good and mysterious and can trick you without you realising it。 I've watched the movies before reading this so I knew the plot but I'm fairly sure that whoever doesn't would have been tricked by the last revelation。I love Hermione in this book。 The way she talks, her intelligence, kindness, and wittiness shocks me。 For me she's a lovely girl with whom I can relate a bit。Now about the things which I got from this book- 1。 Never falsely accuse someone without much evidence and if you feel like they are wrong ask yourself why and just don't take decisions just out of emotions。2。。 There should always be a balance between study and fun。3。 Bravery4。 Friendship。I could think about only these and as it is a Fiction novel I don't think there would be much more to it。 。。。more

Over the spring break, I read the book Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets by J。K Rowling and I liked it。 I decided to read this book because a lot of people, and past teachers I had always recommended the book but I never gave it a go, I also decided to read this book because one week before spring break I finished and took a quiz on the book Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, I really enjoyed that book, so I decided to read the second book, to see what it was about, so I did。 This book Over the spring break, I read the book Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets by J。K Rowling and I liked it。 I decided to read this book because a lot of people, and past teachers I had always recommended the book but I never gave it a go, I also decided to read this book because one week before spring break I finished and took a quiz on the book Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, I really enjoyed that book, so I decided to read the second book, to see what it was about, so I did。 This book was great because the setting of the book was magical, the whole plot was amazing, and while reading the book I, and anyone who reads/read the book could imagine/ picture themselves being inside the book。 This book was also great because I’ve watched the movie, (Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets) the book was a little bit different from the movie and that's what make the book better, lastly what makes the book great is that there are different characters throughout the whole book, but each of the characters are at least mentioned once, and have a part in the book。 This book could be better if they changed the whole plot, like instead of there being a chamber of secrets there could be another place/ thing that makes notion throughout the book, there can even be romance introduced in the book, that would make the book even better。 I think mystery, a bit of thriller, and fiction kind of people should read this because Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets has those genres implied into the book, this book brings out the most imagination on people, and those type of people would also enjoy this book because they won’t get bored of the book, they’ll want to read the next book, and not stop。 This was my review on the book Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, and why people should read it。 。。。more
